I am so sick of President Obama taking credit for ending the war in Iraq. He claims this is an accomplishment wholly due to himself and his administration. Fact is, the SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement) dictated the withdrawal date, which was the – wait for it – the date they left! I know; coincidence.
Anyway, take credit for what you actually do, like signing an order to close Gitmo – and then NOT doing it. The war in Iraq ending was an epic failure of the Obama administration in that they were absolutely NOT able to politically and diplomatically manage the Iraqi government. They are extremely weak, and allowed the Iraqis to kick us out – that is a far stretch from intentionally ending a conflict that had an expiration date from the start.Why are so many US citizens so comfortable with information they do not fact-check? I guess ignorance IS bliss after all…

I am, for one, glad America is out of that hell hole, no matter what the reason…
We spent nine years and billion there, lost over 4,000 of our finest and for what?
So that the Irack government could charge our soldiers for war crimes!!
This is one issue I will give, BOCO, credit for.

I personally spent 5 years of my life in Iraq. I can say it was a good cause, and the right thing to do. I think the reason was strong and there is never a war worth fighting where none will die. The issue here is timing. We should have gone in during the Clinton years when Saddam kicked out the UN weapons inspectors (1998) instead of years later. I also know this conflict had an expiration date on it – which BO was NOT the author – so I give HIM no credit whatsoever. All he did was facilitate the timeline already in place, by lack of political influence. This was later tried to spin into a victory by claiming it was HIS idea to end the war. What a joke, if anything he failed diplomatically rather than succeeded in ending something that was scheduled to end without interference.
